Open View

LUVOS boasts the largest vertical view at 105°amongst Gull masks, and the widest horizontal view at 118° amongst single-lens masks, making it Gull's largest view single lens mask ever. Rivaling the field of view found in frameless masks.

Comfort Fit Technology(PAT.P)

1. Reinforced Damper

Facial movements may compromise a mask’s seal causing flooding around the lips. Reinforced dampers keep the skirt’s edges securely in place preventing flooding even with substantial facial movements.

2. 3D Leak Guard

Faces tend to crease around nose and mouth (laugh lines), and do even more so when clenching a snorkel or regulator. The skirt’s inner three-dimensional surface is specifically engineered to maintain a locked seal at the laugh lines.

3. Easy-Pinch Nose Pocket

Construction of the nose pocket and surrounding area is altered making it much easier to pinch the nose for improved equalization. Gaps between nose and frame are widened allowing for an easy pinch even when wearing thicker gloves.

Aquadynamic Frame

The aquadynamic frame directs water flow through the frame, minimizing resistance and providing a smoother swimming experience with reduced drag.

High-Performance Lens

UV380 CUT AR IR Clear Lens

The lens features an anti-reflective UV380 coating for enhanced transparency compared to UV420 lenses. With anti-reflective (AR) processing on both sides, it ensures clear underwater vision. An added infrared (IR) protective coating helps minimize skin aging around the eyes.

Features of UV AR IR Clear Lens: AR (Anti-Reflection)

Conventional lenses reflect a significant portion of light, resulting in a lower light transmittance of about 92%. UV AR IR Clear lenses have AR coating applied to both sides, enabling over 98% of light to pass through. This ensures a clearer and brighter vision, more akin to the naked eye.
Anti-reflection is also an important safety feature, facilitating ease of eye contact when underwater.

*As with other Gull lenses, be sure to use a neutral detergent and use with the pad of your finger for cleaning the lens. Using a sponge may also damage coating.

Features of UV AR IR Clear Lens: IR (Infrared Cut) Effect

IR (Infrared) Radiation Cutting Technology

Infrared rays penetrate deeper into the skin than ultraviolet rays, leading to wrinkles and sagging. IR cutting technology blocks roughly 50% of IR rays, providing additional anti-aging protection when exposed to strong sunlight, such as on the beach or water surfaces.

What are Infrared Rays?
Infrared rays are a type of radiation. While they have lower energy compared to ultraviolet and visible light, they make up about 50% of the sunlight reaching the Earth's surface. Unlike the stinging sensation experienced with sunburns, infrared rays accumulate damage without any noticeable discomfort, reaching deep into the skin, contributing to wrinkles and sagging.

UV420CUT Lens Function①

Protects eyes from UV rays (up to 400nm),and HEV light (400-420nm), that contribute to oxidative stress and deterioration of lutein*.

An Eye Behind an Ordinary Lens

Light tends to cause oxidative stress and lutein (pigment) deterioration.

An Eye Protected by a UV420 Cut Lens

Protection of lutein reduces oxidative stress: less pigment deterioration.

*People say that lutein acts like natural sunglasses. It is present as a pigment in the retina, the crucial part of the eye that receives light and lets you see. Here, helping to prevent cumulative macular degeneration, it blocks harmful light and has an anti-oxidant effect. Lutein is destroyed when it absorbs harmful light. Its presence in the retina is limited and, because the body cannot make lutein, it can only be replaced by eating lutein-rich food.
